A particle of mass 4 kg is performing S.H.M. in a straight line under the action of force \( F = (15 - 3x) \text{ N} \). Equilibrium position of particle will be
x = 3 m
x = 5 m
x = 7 m
x = 10 m

Solution:

At the equilibrium position of a simple harmonic oscillator, the net restoring force acting on the particle is zero. Setting \( F = 15 - 3x = 0 \) yields \( 3x = 15 ⇒ x = 5 \text{ m} \).
